The Gophers begin fall camp next week! Minnesota is hosting a free open practice for fans and the media on Aug. 7 at Huntington Bank Stadium.
After missing nearly the entire fall camp last year due to COVID-19, Gophers players will benefit from additional in-person coaching reps. Young athletes actually get an opportunity to work with position coaches and develop their technique.
Last year, the offseason looked totally different. Many inexperienced players were thrust into game action without much practice time. However, head coach P.J. Fleck never wavered from his philosophy and kept those athletes on the field. Fleck knew this approach would benefit the program’s future.
As Minnesota enters the 2021 season, that decision is about to pay off. Why?
I joined Ross Brendel on Minnesota Sports Chat and answered that question. We also analyzed the roster, looked at the schedule and previewed fall camp practices!
