Big Ten Releases 2020 Gopher Football Schedule

After announcing the season would return Oct. 24, the Big Ten released its 2020 schedule on Saturday. A battle for the Little Brown Jug will kick off the Gophers’ season. Minnesota opens the 2020 campaign on Oct. 24 against Michigan at TCF Bank Stadium.

The Gophers were initially scheduled to play nine regular season games within the previous schedule. However, Big Ten officials dropped Minnesota’s crossover game against Michigan State to reach eight regular season matchups.

While looking at the schedule, it is worth noting three of Minnesota’s final five games are at home. This means the Gophers will play cold weather, smash mouth football games in late November and early December.

Here’s a look at the complete schedule:

Oct. 24 – vs. Michigan

Oct. 31 – @ Maryland

Nov. 7 – @ Illinois

Nov. 14 – vs. Iowa

Nov. 21 – vs. Purdue

Nov. 28 – @ Wisconsin

Dec. 5 – Northwestern

Dec. 12 – @ Nebraska

Dec. 19 – Champions Week – Big Ten West vs. East matchups based upon their finish in the standings. (2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, etc.). The weekend is capped by the Big Ten Championship game.
